Traditional Hari Raya Cakes are still Maintained until Today

Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration is more lively with various Hari Raya cakes being served to guests. Despite the emergence of new variety of moderns in different shapes and flavours, traditional cakes are still maintained and enjoyed during this festive season.

A number of classic Hari Raya cakes are on the verge of being forgotten as delicacies that were once served during Hari Raya including sapit, baulu, jala and panganan cincin. This may be due to decreased demand for the said cakes or it can be easily obtained in the market, or there are no longer people who can make them. Modern cakes and biscuits are also becoming attractive. However, traditional cakes are still being served during the festive season for its variety and uniqueness.

New Hari Raya cakes and biscuits actually have the same ingredient as traditional cakes that have existed since long time ago, and it is only processed according to the changing time with new modern names.
