Two-Day Official Visit

Yang Amat Berhormat Dato’ Sri Ismail Sabri Yaakob, the Prime Minister of Malaysia and spouse, Yang Amat Berbahagia Datin Sri Muhaini Zainal Abidin and delegation arrived in the country last night. Present at Brunei International Airport to welcome Yang Amat Berhormat the Prime Minister of Malaysia and spouse on arrival were His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah ibni His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, The Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office, as Personal Representative of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, and Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Masna, Ambassador-At-Large at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Also present to welcome Yang Amat Berhormat and spouse were Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Lailaraja Retired Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd. Yussof, Second Minister of Defence as Minister-in-Attendance, and Datin.

Upon arrival, Yang Amat Berhormat the Prime Minister of Malaysia inspected the Guard of Honour mounted by personnel of the Royal Brunei Land Force, Royal Brunei Armed Forces.

The Prime Minister of Malaysia was then introduced to the Cabinet Ministers; Deputy Ministers; Commissioner of the Royal Brunei Police Force and spouse; Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces and spouse; Foreign Envoys in Brunei Darussalam and their respective spouses; and Permanent Secretaries from the Prime Minister’s Office and Ministry of Foreign Affairs as well as their respective spouses. The Malaysian delegation included Yang Berhormat Dato’ Seri Dr. Shahidan bin Kasim, Minister of Federal Territories; and Yang Berhormat Dato’ Sri Saifuddin Abdullah, Minister of Foreign Affairs. This marks the first official visit by Yang Amat Berhormat to Brunei Darussalam as the Prime Minister of Malaysia, since his appointment on the 21st of August 2021.
