Universiti Brunei Darussalam, UBD, achieved another major milestone when it became the first university in Brunei Darussalam to be ranked at the 201-250 band in the Times Higher Education, THE World Rankings.
This makes UBD the 4th engineering school in ASEAN to obtain the ranking, in addition to the National University of Singapore; Nanyang Technological University in Singapore; and the University of Malaya in Malaysia. The THE World University Ranking is one of the most influential university rankings in the world. It is the second subject ranking for UBD in which Physical Sciences entered the ranking for the first time last year. According to Doctor Juliana binti Haji Zaini, Dean of the Faculty of Integrated Technology, FIT, UBD, the position among the best engineering schools in the region will increase confidence among current and future students in the quality and credibility of the university’s engineering programmes.
