Ukong: Over 40 types of traditional food were showcased during the Ukong Mamagon Food Festival at Kampung Ukong Sports Court, Tutong District, on the morning of 28th September. The festival served as a platform to instill a love for cultural heritage while boosting the local economy.
According to Radio Television Brunei, the festival was launched by Dayang Siti Norashikin binti Mohd Salleh, Deputy Permanent Secretary for Policy, Corporate and Planning at the Ministry of Home Affairs. The event also witnessed the presence of Yang Berhormat Awang Haji Mohamad Danial @ Tekpin bin Ya’akub, Member of the Legislative Council. The Ukong Mamagon Food Festival reintroduced the wealth of traditional food from various ethnic groups, offering the younger generation an opportunity to recognize, appreciate, and understand the origins of these traditional foods.
