University Technology Brunei, UTB has been recognised as a five-star institution, based on the Quacquarelli Symonde (QS) Stars Rating. UTB has scored five-star in six out of seven assessment categories namely Teaching, Employability, Internationalisation, Facilities, Social Responsibility and Inclusiveness. The attainment has made UTB as the best University in Brunei Darussalam which earned achievements from the Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) Stars Rating. QS Star is an international accreditation system that provides various criteria to enable institutions to stand out in certain various field of excellence. 208 universities managed to obtain stars from QS this year and 43 universities including UTB was awarded with five-star.
There were 12 additional new signs proposed by UTB making it a total of 64 signs audited by QS this year. These 12 new signs analyse the reputation of the programmes that offered by UTB, according to the students and future UTB students, academics as well as staffs that offered employment to UTB graduates in the past six months. QS Also assess the quality of the programme in achieving the minimum registration amount determined by QS, in terms of faculty strength as well as achievements in accreditation. UTB has succeeded in improving its overall marks by 11 point 2 percent compared to last year's score, which was 625 points, through programmes accredited in the international level, quality teaching and international research results. UTB is also placed at 57th for Young Global University under fifty years.
