The Energy and Industry Department at the Prime Minister's Office informs the public the latest status on the situation at Brunei LNG plant as of 10.00 pm, 30th November 2016. As a result of the power failure at Brunei LNG plant at 4.30 pm on 29th November 2016, the supply of electric power to some parts of the Belait District are affected.
There is no injury to the staffs and workers of the Brunei LNG plant reported to date. The priority is to ensure the safety of staffs, workers and surrounding communities and to minimize the impact from this incident.
Power supply to some of the still affected Kuala Belait areas started in phases from 6.10 pm and fully restored at 8.59 pm, 30th November 2016. Power supply to Brunei LNG plant started at 6.40 pm, 30th November 2016. Power supply to other districts was not affected.
