Various Health Programmes Introduced

One out of 10 adults in the country is known to have diabetes. Globally, one out two adults do not know they are living with diabetes. In this regard, the Ministry of Health stressed that diabetes screening that is focused on preventive measures and improve knowledge on diabetes as well as its complications is important. In conjunction with the World Diabetes Day 2022, bulletin will focus on efforts to address diabetes.

 

Among the latest efforts by the Government of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam through the Ministry of Health and agencies, institutions as well as related organisations are the introduction of various health programmes, and the provision of facilities for diabetes care in line with the World Diabetes Day’s theme ‘Access to Diabetes Care.’

 

The Ministry of Health recognises the burden of diabetes and the rising cases of the non-communicable disease in the country. The Ministry also strives to enhance education for health care professionals and patients alike, to increase knowledge on diabetes and how to manage it.

 

The Ministry of Health in collaboration with EVYD Technologies is currently carrying out a Diabetes Management Study that is designed to assist individuals with Type 2 Diabetes in managing their respective diabetes care. The study aims to assess the effectiveness of digital control methods in diabetes care.
