The Ministry of Home Affairs also held such a ceremony yesterday afternoon where 6 buffaloes were sacrificed.
Approximately 300 officers and staff of the ministry received the sacrificial meat. The sacrificial meat for male recipients were distributed by Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Doctor Haji Mohammad Isham bin Haji Jaafar, Minister of Health, while Datin Doctor Hajah Noraslinah binti Haji Ramlee, wife of the Minister of Health distributed the meat to female recipients.
The Prime Minister's Office and the departments under it also organised the rites of sacrifice in conjunction with the AidilAdha celebration. In attendance was Dato Seri Paduka Awang Haji Abdul Mokti bin Haji Mohd Daud, Minister at the Prime Minister's Office. The ceremony commenced with a tazkirah or short talk delivered by Doctor Haji Ismuhadi bin Haji Abdullah, a Daie from the Islamic Da'wah Centre. 6 cows and 3 goats were sacrificed at the ceremony, and the meat were distributed to 40 recipients of the poor and destitute from Mukim Berakas 'A' and 'B'. This year's ceremony was conducted by the Wawasan Brunei 2035 Standing Secretariat, Department of Councils of State and the Anti-Corruption Bureau.
Another rites of sacrifice ceremony was also held by the State Mufti Department, Royal Brunei Airlines and Mulaut Abattoir Sendirian Berhad. 3 cows, 5 buffaloes and a goat were sacrificed, and the meat were distributed to 218 selected recipients from Mukim Lumapas by Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Seri Maharaja Dato Paduka Seri Setia Doctor Ustaz Haji Awang Abdul Aziz bin Juned, the State Mufti and Dato Seri Paduka Doctor Awang Haji Abdul Manaf bin Haji Metussin, Deputy Minister of Finance and Economy as member of the Royal Brunei Board of Directors.
