Tahlil ceremonies for the late parents of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien and Al-Marhumah Duli Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Damit continue to be held in Ramadan which is a month full of blessings. A number of government agencies held such a ceremony at the Royal Mausoleum in the capital.
Yesterday, the Autoriti Monetari Brunei Darussalam, AMBD organised a tahlil ceremony. Among those in attendance was Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Kerna Dato Seri Setia Doctor Haji Awang Abu Bakar bin Haji Apong, the Minister of Home Affairs as Deputy Chairman of the AMBD Board of Directors. The reading of Surah Yasin and Tahlil was led by Awang Haji Azrul Alim bin Haji Jaini, Mosque Affairs Officer. Also present was Dato Paduka Awang Haji Mohammad Roselan bin Haji Mohammad Daud, Acting Minister at the Prime Minister's Office.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Defence and the Royal Brunei Armed Forces, RBAF also held a similar ceremony. The delegation was led by Retired First Admiral Dato Seri Pahlawan Awang Abdul Aziz bin Mohd Tamit, the Deputy Minister of Defence. The reading of Surah Yasin and Tahli was led by Captain Ariffin bin Amit, Assistant Head of RBAF's Religious Department. Also in attendance was Yang Dimuliakan Pehin Datu Pekerma Jaya Major General Dato Paduka Seri Mohammad Tawih bin Abdullah, the Commander of the RBAF.
A tahlil ceremony was also held by the Royal Brunei Police Force. Dato Paduka Seri Haji Mohd Jammy bin Haji Muhd Shah Al-Islam, the Commissioner of Police was among those in attendance. The reading of Surah Yasin and Tahlil was led by A.P.O Sergeant Major Pengiran Haji Ludin bin Pengiran Haji Matahir, Imam of the Police Headquarters' Surau in Gadong.
The Department of Councils of States also held a similar ceremony and joining the delegation were members of the Legislative Council as well as the department's officers and staff. The reading of Surah Yasin and Tahlil was led by Pengiran Haji Mohammad Hafizuddin bin Pengiran Haji Bakar, Mosque Affairs Department.
