VES Implementation Dissemination Session

To enhance the public's understanding on the Vehicle Entry/Exit System (VES), the Implementation Dissemination Session was extended to the Temburong District, yesterday morning. The session provides detailed information on the implementation of VES which is hoped to expedite the application of permits to bring vehicles across the border through Control Posts and at the same time, replaces the manual system using forms. The session took place at the Bumiputera Main Complex in Bangar Town.

Among those present were Yang Berhormat Awang Haji Emran bin Haji Sabtu, Member of the Legislative Council and Awang Mohammad Amir Hairil bin Haji Mahmud, Temburong District Officer. The briefing was delivered by Pengiran Haji Mohd Hasnan bin Pengiran Haji Ali Hassan, Acting Controller of Royal Customs and Excise Department. The Royal Customs and Excise Department, (JKED) has also provided a kiosk for the public to register for their vehicle passes online, through the portal, '' to reduce congestion in obtaining the vehicle entry/exit forms through filling in forms at the control posts.

The QR Code generated in the Vehicle Passes will be scanned when crossing the border. The public is urged to register their vehicles earlier before making their journey. The Vehicle Passes can be printed or kept in a digital format and downloaded into their smart phones or tablets. The Vehicle Passes are valid for three months from the date of registration.

The VES implementation will be carried out in phases with a transition period of six months. Throughout the transition period, the normal channels will also be provided to enable the public to familiarise themselves with the new system to ensure the system's implementation will not affect the public's travel plans.
