Participants of the Brunei Darussalam Post Graduates Civic Village Programme yesterday morning made a visit to the Department of Adat Istiadat Negara.
During the visit, they were briefed on using the correct ways of using court language, terasul or titles and Bruneian Adat Istiadat or Protocol etiquette during the visit. Apart from that, they also visited the Lapau Building in the capital to take a closer look at the functions of the building in general followed by an adat istiadat briefing. The briefing among other things outlined the characteristics that are based on the adat istiadat such as hereditary origins, in line with development which can be modernised by retaining its authenticity, based on Islamic Law and according to capability and being economical.
