In conjunction with the New Year 1444 Hijrah celebration, various parties in the country held the recreational sports events. The Kampung Besar Mosque Takmir Committee held a walkathon started and ended at the mosque, 29th July.
Present was Awang Haji Amir Hisham bin Haji Masri, Acting Director of Mosque Affairs. The event aims to welcome the arrival of new hijrah year and strengthen ties among the mosque takmir committee.
The Syababul Iman group together with the Sultan Sharif Ali Masjid Takmir Committee, Kampung Sengkurong also held a 2.6 kilometer walk.
In Temburong District, the Youth and Takmir Committee of Kampung Sibut Religious Hall together Kampung Sibut and Sumbiling Consultative Council Committee also held a hijrah recreational programme. The programme is hoped to appreciate the event of migration, apart from to fill the free time with healthy activities
