His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, chaired the First Meeting of Wawasan Brunei 2035 Supreme Council for the Year 2023 at Istana Nurul Iman. Among the main roles of the Supreme Council is to ensure that strategies and policies related to the national development agenda are coordinated at the highest level in a more systematic manner. They should also continue to address issues and challenges to lead the country towards achieving Wawasan Brunei 2035.
Also in attendance was His Majesty’s son, His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office, as the Deputy Chairman of the Wawasan Brunei 2035 Supreme Council.
The meeting began with the reading of Surah Al-Fatihah and Doa Selamat by Yang Berhormat Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman, the Minister of Religious Affairs. Among other matters, the meeting discussed the progress of Wawasan Brunei 2035 covering ‘Economic Blueprint’; ‘Manpower Blueprint’ and ‘Social Blueprint’ as well as future plans.
