Tourist arrivals to Brunei Darussalam have more than doubled since national carrier Royal Brunei Airlines (RB) announced Bruneian international celebrity, Wu Chun, as its brand ambassador.
This was revealed by Dermot Mannion, RB’s Deputy Chairman during a roadshow with Wu Chun at The Empire Hotel and Country Club, in Jerudong yesterday.
The event was filled with a deluge of Wu Chun fans and members of the media, all flocking to the venue of the press conference and roadshow to have a glimpse of the star.
Some 50 lucky Wu Chun fans participated in the RB roadshow where beach games and food were arranged. The event was co-organised by RB and The Empire Hotel and Country Club and supported by Brunei Tourism.
In an interview with the RB Deputy Chairman, he said, “Wu Chun has definitely created and increased interest on Brunei as a tourist destination. He has spread knowledge about the Sultanate.”
Wu Chun said being as an international artist and entrepreneur requires him to travel numerous times a year and he is impressed with the friendly and family-orientated service the RB staff provide its customers with, as Bruneian culture is family-centred. “RB continues to demonstrate improvement,” he added.
The celebrity actor urged the youth to push forward and have the “willingness to learn” to become successful in business.
“Bruneian artists should learn about the market they are targeting, the culture and language and improve on their interpersonal skills to be successful.”
The star conducted seven motivational talks in local schools this year and he will continue to support the growing local artists by sharing his knowledge that may contribute to their success. Wu Chun is all set to start shooting for his upcoming movie next month.
