Year 6 Graduation Ceremony

His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam and Her Majesty Duli Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha binti Al-Marhum Pengiran Pemancha Pengiran Anak Haji Mohamed Alam consented to grace Jerudong International School's (JIS) Year 6 graduation ceremony. His Majesty's Daughter, Her Royal Highness Princess Ameerah Wardatul Bolkiah was among the students who graduated today. The ceremony took place at Jerudong International School's Arts Centre.

Upon arrival, His Majesty and Her Majesty Duli Raja Isteri were greeted by Her Royal Highness Princess Ameerah Wardatul Bolkiah, Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Dr Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew bin Abdullah, Minister at the Prime Minister's Office, Second Minister of Finance and Economy as Chairman of JIS Board of Directors, Datin Seri Paduka Dr Hajah Romaizah binti Haji Mohd Salleh, Deputy Minister of Education and Deputy Chairman of JIS Board of Directors, Dr Haji Azman bin Ahmad, Permanent Secretary for Higher Education at the Ministry of Education, Mr Barnaby Sandow, the School Principal and members of the school's Board of Directors.

Before the graduation ceremony, His Majesty and Her Majesty Duli Raja Isteri visited the Junior School Art Gallery to view the Junior School artworks on display.

The students also shared their experience at the school, including Her Royal Highness Princess Ameerah Wardatul Bolkiah. The ceremony showed the Year 6 students ability to speak in public and express their opinions.

The ceremony continued with the presentation of certificates to 84 Year 6 students, including Her Royal Highness Princess Ameerah Wardatul Bolkiah. The graduation was an important achievement for the Junior students, a chance to reflect on everything they have achieved and for the children to realise they have all the skills they need to be successful. It also showed the skills they will need to flourish in the senior school and beyond.

Mr Paul Bannister, the Head of Junior School in his speech, the graduation is an opportunity for JIS to celebrate the students' time in the junior School and recognised that they are moving onto the next stage of the educational career.

The ceremony ended with a beautiful performance by the Year 6 graduating students. Her Royal Highness played a guitar during the performance. After graduating from Junior School, Her Royal Highness Princess Ameerah Wardatul Bolkiah will enter Year 7 of the JIS Middle Years, joining over 130 other students in August.
