Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Hamzah bin Haji Sulaiman, Minister of Education also touched on the attendance of Year 7 to Year 9 students at the second stage of educational institutions opening in the Early Endemic Phase by following the SOPs at the schools.
The Minister informed that the students will be required to undergo the COVID-19 screening test using Antigen Rapid Test, ART once a week. The guidelines on the matter can be referred from the website and media social of the Ministry of Education. At the second stage of educational institutions opening in the Early Endemic Phase, which will begin on 14th Jamadilakhir 1443 Hijrah corresponding to 17th January 2022, physical teaching and learning sessions will also be opened for kindergartens under the Ministry of Education, especially Kindergartens 1 and 2 for children between the ages of 3 and 4.
The kindergarten centres may operate with children’s attendance not exceeding 30 percent of the capacity with a frequency of five times a week. However for the safety of students and school staff, the opening of kindergarten centres at this stage is allowed with strict adherence to guidelines and Standard Operating Procedures, SOPs. The Ministry of Education through the Department of Private Education will monitor the implementation of the set SOPs to ensure that the schools are ready and well-prepared.
