The 'Youth Against Poverty' Symposium Workshop aims to tap into the youth's passion and innovate their ideas and creativity further, in hopes that it will be able to create projects related to poverty alleviation. The workshop aims to provide youth with an experience in understanding the meaning of poverty in the country through learning.
The symposium was officiated yesterday morning by Yang Berhormat Retired Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Aminuddin Ihsan bin Pehin Orang Kaya Saiful Mulok Dato Seri Paduka Haji Abidin, Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports. Also in-attendance were Yang Berhormat Awang Haji Abdul Hamid @ Haji Sabli bin Haji Arshad; Yang Berhormat Dayang Nik Hafimi binti Abdul Haadii and Yang Berhormat Dayang Khairunnisa binti Awang Haji Ash'ari, Members of the Legislative Council. The workshop, which is held for the first time, is jointly conducted by the Institute of Police Studies, IPS, University Brunei Darussalam. The symposium was highlighted by a keynote address by Professor Amin Abdul Aziz, Islamic Administration Lecture, IPS. During the conference, participants had the opportunity to voice out their respective project ideas which was then assessed by a panel of judges.
