A three-day exhibition and sale of products by local entrepreneurs, including Brunei Halal products is being held at the Lobby of the International Convention Centre in Berakas. His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam toured the exhibition and sale which is in conjunction with the Isra' Mi'raj celebration.
More than 20 booths are provided to entrepreneurs who represent Mukim and Village Consultative Councils, private companies, related agencies such as Halal Food Control Division, Health Promotion Centre, Darussalam Enterprise, DARe, Bank Islam Brunei Darussalam, BIBD and Perbadanan Tabung Amanah Islam Brunei, TAIB.
Apart from selling local halal products, Al-Fatihah and Prayer Clinics are also opened to provide visitors the opportunity to have their reading of Al-Fatihah checked and approved. The Al-Fatihah clinic is organised by the Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Tahfiz Al-Quran Institute while the prayer clinic is conducted by the Department of Islamic Studies.
His Majesty's presence is hoped to motivate the local entrepreneurs to continue engaging in the business sector as a source of income while at the same time stimulating the country's economy. The exhibition and sale is organised by the Ministry of Religious Affairs through the Department of Islamic Studies in collaboration with the Islamic Eminence Development Division.
The event enlivens and diversifies the scope of the Isra' Mi'raj celebration and acts as a mechanism to spur the quality of halal food as well as honest business transactions. The exhibition is open for 3-days starting today from 8 in the morning until 4.30 in the afternoon.
