50th Anniversary of Armed Forces for the National Liberation of Timor-Leste Celebrated in Dili

Bandar seri begawan: The 50th Anniversary of the Armed Forces for the National Liberation of Timor-Leste was recently commemorated in Dili, The Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste. Leading the Ministry of Defence delegation to the ceremony was Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Lailaraja Retired Major General Dato Paduka Seri Awang Haji Halbi bin Haji Mohammad Yussof, Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Second Minister of Defence.

According to Radio Television Brunei, Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Muhammad Haszaimi bin Bol Hassan, Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces, and Awang Mohammad Dino bin Haji Ayup, Charge d’ Affaires of the Embassy of Brunei Darussalam to the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste, were also present at the event. The celebrations included an International Conference at the Main Hall of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, officiated by His Excellency Kay Rala Xanana Gusmo, Prime Minister of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste, and followed by a Remembrance Ceremony.

During the visit, Yang Berhormat Pehin engaged in discussions with His Excellency Rear Admiral Donaciano Costa Gomes ‘Pedro Klamar Fuik’, Ph.D., Minister of Defence of Timor-Leste, at the Ministry of Defence, focusing on defence matters and regional security issues of mutual concern.
