His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah Ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam in the titah says that Muslims do not need to wait for the whole world to be interested in Al-Quran. But most importantly, His Majesty adds is not to delay in treating their own environment with Al-Quran because if they are ready to treat themselves and the situation with Al-Quran their era will be healthy and glorious. His Majesty made the tiah during the prize presentation ceremony of the 9th Southeast Asian Youth Al-Quran Reading Competition 1441 Hijrah / 2019 earlier tonight. In the titah His Majesty emphasises that by internalising the teachings of Al-Quran that youth will achieve a good and blessed life with excellent personality and moral. His Majesty continues the titah that Al-Quran's role is to bring light to the darkness of this challenging era. The culmination of the 9th Southeast Asian Youth Al-Quran Reading Competition 1441 Hijrah / 2019 was the prize presentation ceremony to the winners and participants, presented by His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam.
Upon arrival, His Majesty was greeted by Yang Berhormat Retired Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Aminuddin Ihsan bin Pehin Orang Kaya Saiful Mulok Dato Seri Paduka Haji Abidin, Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports and Yang Berhormat Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman, Minister of Religious Affairs as the Co-Chairmen of the 9th Southeast Asian Youth Al-Quran Reading Competition for 1441 Hijrah/2019 Executive Committee. Accompanying His Majesty were His Majesty's sons, His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister's Office and His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Malik.
The ceremony commenced with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah led by Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Seri Maharaja Dato Paduka Seri Setia Doctor Ustaz Haji Awang Abdul Aziz bin Juned, the State Mufti.
In his welcoming remark, the Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports said that the Southeast Asian Youth Al-Quran Reading Competition is a manifestation of the regional countries' closeness as a united community that uphold initiatives that gives huge impact.
Kamaruddin G. Zaidon from the Philippines was crowned as the champion Qari of this year's Southeast Asian Youth Al-Quran Reading Competition. Second place went to Awang Hadi bin Mohd Sharkawi from Malaysia, while Awang Abdul Mu'in bin Haji Abdul Hamid from Brunei Darussalam took third place.
Meanwhile, Dayangku Siti Ummi Syazana binti Pengiran Haji Marjuki from Brunei Darussalam emerged as champion qariah of the 9th Southeast Asian Youth Al-Quran Reading Competition. Dayang A'tii Qah binti Suhaimi from Singapore and Dayang Nurul Husna binti Sharif from Malaysia took second and third place respectively.
