Brunei Darussalam is still in the Northeast Monsoon and will transition to Intermonsoon season starting April. During the inter-monsoon season, thunderstorms, can be heavy and gusty at times. In a virtual interview with RTB News, Dayang Rokiah binti Haji Angas, Acting Deputy Director of Meteorology explained that according to the climatology record, the frequency of thunderstorms is high during the intermonsoon season.
Active weather condition is forecast starting today, 18th to 21st of March 2022 due to active development of rain clouds over the country. There is risk of flash floods especially at low-lying and flood prone areas. Risk of landslide and falling trees are also possible during heavy showers and gusty condition. Members of the public are advised to take precautionary actions with respect to the forecast active weather condition.
