Bandar seri begawan: A cosmetic product from Glowing Beauty, specifically the Glowing Night Treatment, has been found to be adulterated with an undeclared, scheduled poison, Hydroquinone, Department of Scientific Services, Ministry of Health. The product poses potential hazards to users, including skin hypersensitivity, discoloration, and an increased risk of skin cancer.
According to Radio Television Brunei, the Ministry of Health has not granted approval for the importation or sale of this product, nor has it issued a Cosmetic Notification Acknowledgement Letter for its sale. As a result, the affected product is prohibited from being imported and sold in Brunei Darussalam.
Violations of the Poisons Act 1956 related to this issue can result in significant penalties, including fines up to $5,000, imprisonment for up to two years, or both. The public is advised to cease using the product immediately and to consult a medical practitioner if they experience any adverse reactions.
