Bandar seri begawan: The rapidly evolving Artificial Intelligence landscape today necessitates a more agile approach to data protection, a point emphasized during the 2nd AI Governance Symposium organized by the Authority for Info-communications Technology Industry of Brunei Darussalam (AITI). The Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Transport and Infocommunications highlighted the importance of ensuring that the use of AI is underpinned by a commitment to ethical practices to address the risks of AI misuse and related issues.
According to Radio Television Brunei, Awang Haji Mohammad Nazri bin Haji Mohammad Yusof stressed that the effective implementation of AI requires shared responsibility among stakeholders. This collaborative approach is crucial for harnessing such technologies and ensuring their responsible development and use. The symposium provided a platform for open discussions and collaboration among government organizations, the private sector, academia, and civil society to shape the responsible use of AI in Brunei Darussalam. It also featured panel discussions between AITI and industry players on establishing a foundation for responsible AI innovation. The event took place in the capital on the morning of August 28th.
