People attending mass prayers at the mosques can revive the sunnah or tradition of Prophet Muhammad Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam as well as a sense of equality and belonging among Muslims. Praying at the mosques also brings more blessings and rewards to the ummah as individuals, families and a nation. In relation to this, the Masjidku Makmur and Mass Dawn Prayer Programme was held at Kampung Rataie National Housing Scheme Mosque in Temburong District yesterday morning. Masjidku Makmur literally means My Active or Lively Mosque.
The congregants included Yang Berhormat Awang Haji Emran bin Haji Sabtu, Member of the Legislative Council and Awang Abdul Ghani bin Haji Othman, Acting Temburong District Officer. The talk titled Hajrul Al Quran or 'Neglecting Al-Quran' was delivered by Awang Jamil bin Haji Ghani, Head Religious Officer of Temburong District. The talk touched on Al-Quran which Allah Subhanahu Wata'ala revealed to the Messenger of Allah, Sallallahu Alaihi Wassalam as guidance for mankind that brought them out from the darkness of ignorance and infidelity towards the light of faith, knowledge and the right path. The speaker said nowadays there are people who discard Al-Quran, do not read it as well as not listen to its verses to understand and practise its contents. He added Al-Quran is neglected because more attention is given to mobile devices such as handphones. This in the end will lead to ignorance and the downfall of the ummah or Muslim nation.
