Following a fire that occurred last Thursday at the Annur building, home to the Brunei Darussalam Welfare Officer and students in Cairo, Arab Republic of Egypt, the Embassy of Brunei Darussalam in Cairo has confirmed that all of the building’s residents are safe and no injuries were reported.
The fire could be caused by a pile of cargo items that belonged to the building owner that was placed just outside the building. The fire then spread out due to the extremely hot weather. The total registered residents at Annur building is 127 people comprising 66 men and 61 women. During the incident, 44 male students and 40 female students were in Cairo.
