The first flight carrying 254 of the country's haj pilgrims safely arrived in the country at 3:15 yesterday afternoon.
Their arrival was welcomed by Yang BerhormatPehinDatuLailaraja Retired Major General DatoPaduka Seri Haji AwangHalbi bin Haji Mohd. Yussof, Second Minister of Defence; Yang BerhormatDato Seri Setia Doctor Haji MohamadIsham bin Haji Jaafar, Minister of Health and PengiranDato Seri Paduka Haji Bahrom bin Pengiran Haji Bahar, Acting Minister of Religious Affairs. Also present to welcome the delegation were Hussain Mohammed M. Ad-Dajani, Charge D' Affaires at the Royal Embassy of Saudi Arabia in Brunei Darussalam; Awang Haji Mohammad Rosli bin Haji Ibrahim, Permanent Secretary for Law and Welfare at the Prime Minister's Office; and Dato Seri SetiaAwang Haji Abdul Aziz bin Orang Kaya Maharaja Lela Haji Yussof, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Religious Affairs.
At the arrival hall, the arrival of the country's haj pilgrims were welcomed by hundreds of families and friends. Despite being on a long flight, the haj pilgrims expressed their gratitude for being reunited with their families. The delegation comprised 189 haj pilgrims under Syarikat Darussalam Holdings SendirianBerhad; 31 pilgrims from Syarikat At-Taqwa Travel Tours SendirianBerhad and 31 pilgrims from Syarikat Raudah Al-Amin SendirianBerhad, as well as 3 medical officers including those from the Haj Management Office for medical.
