Berakas: The 49th ASEAN Maritime Transport Working Group (MTWG) Meeting took place on the afternoon of September 30. Engineer Mohammad Nazri bin Mohammad Yusof, Permanent Secretary for Transport at the Ministry of Transport and Infocommunications, highlighted the ongoing significance of maritime transport and the 49th MTWG Meeting in fostering regional connectivity and maritime development. He noted that contemporary issues such as green ships, green shipping corridors, and decarbonisation are pivotal in shaping the maritime sector’s future, steering it towards a more resilient, sustainable, responsive, and innovative industry.
According to Radio Television Brunei, the Permanent Secretary also remarked that this meeting was the fourth and final occasion for Brunei Darussalam to host the event as Chair. He praised the efforts made over the past two years to bolster the ASEAN maritime transport sector, including strides toward realizing the ASEAN Single Shipping Market (ASSM).
