Jerudong: The Brunei Darussalam Islamic Finance (BDIF) Symposium 2025 served as a platform for dialogue on the latest developments, challenges, and opportunities in Islamic finance. Organized by the Brunei Darussalam Central Bank (BDCB) in collaboration with the Sultan Sharif Ali Islamic University (UNISSA) and Bank Islam Brunei Darussalam, the symposium was held in the morning of December 2nd.
According to Radio Television Brunei, the event featured the presentation of an award by Pengiran Datin Seri Paduka Hajah Zety Sufina binti Pengiran Dato Paduka Haji Sani, Acting Minister of Finance and Economy and Deputy Chairman of the BDCB Board of Directors. The ceremony also included the launch of the BDIF website.
A keynote presentation by Doctor Ziyaad Mahomed, Associate Professor and Lead Researcher for Shari’ah at INCEIF University, Malaysia, highlighted technological advancements in the financial sector and their implications for the growth and transformation of Islamic finance in the digital era.
