Bandar Seri Begawan: Bank Islam Brunei Darussalam (BIBD) launched its official WhatsApp Business account on 26th March 2025, providing customers with a convenient communication channel.
According to Radio Television Brunei, this service will be introduced in phases, beginning with the delivery of One-Time Passwords (OTPs) for online e-commerce transactions. The new WhatsApp channel aims to improve OTP delivery reliability, especially when customers are traveling abroad. The service applies to online purchases on platforms that support EMV 3D Secure. The introduction of WhatsApp for OTP delivery reinforces BIBD's commitment to a customer-centric digital banking experience.
