Brunei Darussalam and Azerbaijan Strengthen Diplomatic Ties Through Legislative Cooperation

Bandar seri begawan: The close bilateral relations between Brunei Darussalam and the Republic of Azerbaijan were emphasised during a courtesy call made by His Excellency Irfan Shakir Oglu Davudov, Non-Resident Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Brunei Darussalam. Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Lela Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Abdul Rahman bin Dato Setia Haji Mohamed Taib, Speaker of the Legislative Council, highlighted efforts to bolster diplomatic relations between the Legislative Council and the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

According to Radio Television Brunei, the meeting served as a platform to strengthen understanding and expand legislative cooperation between the two countries. Both parties exchanged views on the current geopolitical landscape and explored opportunities to enhance bilateral cooperation in areas such as trade and the oil and gas sector.

The gathering was attended by prominent figures, including Datin Paduka Dr. Dayang Hajah Huraini Binti Pehin Orang Kaya Setia Jaya Dato Paduka Awang Haji Hurairah, who serves as Clerk to the Privy Council, Secretary to the Cabinet Ministers' Council, and Clerk to the Legislative Council. The event was held at the Dewan Majlis Building, Jalan Dewan Majlis, underscoring the commitment of both nations to fortify their diplomatic engagement.
