Berakas: The Brunei Darussalam National Squad is preparing to kick off their Asian Cup Qualification AFC campaign with an opening match against Bhutan on the night of June 10 at the Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium. A pre-match media conference for both teams was conducted on the afternoon of June 9.
According to Radio Television Brunei, Fabio Joaquim Maciel Da Silva, the Acting Head Coach of Brunei Darussalam, expressed confidence in the readiness of the national squad. He stated that several strategies have been planned to effectively face Bhutan. Brunei is placed in Group ‘B’ alongside Bhutan, Yemen, and Lebanon.
On the other hand, Atsushi Nakamura, the Head Coach of Bhutan, acknowledged the challenge posed by different weather conditions and a team comprising almost half young, inexperienced players. Nevertheless, he affirmed their determination to strive for a victory and secure the full three points in the match.
