Bandar seri begawan: Brunei Darussalam’s historical and cultural landmarks are drawing attention as the country aims to become a prominent tourist destination. The Tourism Development Department, under the Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism, is collaborating with local airlines and travel agencies to bolster Brunei’s position in the Southeast Asian tourism market.
According to Radio Television Brunei, the department organised two familiarisation trips for travel agents from Thailand and Vietnam. These trips are part of ongoing efforts to enhance Brunei’s appeal to international tourists. Delegations from these countries explored several sites, including the Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Mosque, Jame’ Asr Hassanil Bolkiah, the Royal Regalia Museum, Kampong Ayer, and Istana Nurul Iman. The visits provided insights into Brunei’s royal heritage, Islamic architecture, and living traditions that define the nation’s identity.
