Bandar seri begawan: The total road accident cases in Brunei Darussalam have shown an increase over the past three years. Road accident statistics reveal that as of June this year, 12 fatalities were recorded compared to 7 in the same period last year. In response to the rising trend in road accidents and to instil a sense of responsibility among road users, the National Road Safety Council, MKKJR, will launch the National Road Safety Campaign with the theme 'Watch Your Speed, Watch The Road.'
According to Radio Television Brunei, the campaign aims to raise awareness on the road and advise road users to avoid carelessness and obey speed limits. This was shared by the Deputy Permanent Secretary for Transport at the Ministry of Transport and Infocommunications during a press conference at the ministry.
At the press conference, Awang Haji Mohammad Salihin bin Haji Aspar also shared statistics on accidents, road traffic violations, and compound fines.
