Bandar Seri Begawan: The Brunei legislative council meeting wrapped up yesterday, with legislative council members touching on various steps towards realising the Brunei Vision 2035.
According to Nam News Network, Haji Mohamad Danial, a legislative council member, emphasised that rural development must not be overlooked as Brunei moves towards achieving its Vision 2035 goals. He stressed the importance of equality in national planning, calling for strategic efforts to ensure rural areas are included in the country's progress.
In support of the government's target of 85 percent homeownership under the national housing scheme by 2035, he proposed the revitalisation of rural communities through integrated housing developments. This approach would not only offer affordable and comfortable homes, but also counter the loss of village residents caused by urban migration.
