The intensive course for Brunei Darussalam's representatives to the International Quran Reading and Memorising Event in Kuala Lumpur ended this afternoon. The closing ceremony took place at the Ministry of Religious Affairs.
The function was attended by Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Abd Aziz bin Orang Kaya Maharaja Lela Haji Yussof, the Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Religious Affairs. The country's representatives are Awang Haji Mohammad Albi bin Haji Ibrahim and Dayangku Fauziah Nadhirah binti Pengiran Haji Jofri. Both Al-Quran readers demonstrated their reading ability, while a special panel comprising experts in Al-Quran gave comments and advice.
The course began in March and was intended to help Qari and Qariah improve as well as expose them to a new and different method of Quran reading. Also attending the ceremony was Pengiran Anak Dr. Haji Amiruddin Alam Shah bin Pengiran Anak Haji Ismail, the Acting Deputy Permanent Secretary for Policy and Religion at the Ministry of Religious Affairs.
