Bandar seri begawan: In conjunction with the International Day of Older Persons celebrated every 1st of October, the Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Bridge and the Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium were illuminated in golden yellow light. This initiative serves not only to commemorate the contributions of senior citizens towards the nation's development but also to express appreciation towards the elderly population.
According to Radio Television Brunei, the golden yellow colour was selected as the official colour for the International Day of Older Persons. It symbolizes the journey of senior citizens entering their golden age, highlighting their wealth of experience and knowledge that can provide valuable guidance to the younger generation.
