Bandar Seri Begawan: Various parties in Brunei enlivened the last day of Tasyrik with Sacrificial Rites Ceremonies, marking the occasion with community gatherings and meat distributions. The Mashhor Group of Companies and Yayasan Al-Mashhor organized a Hari Raya Aidiladha Celebration on the morning of June 10, which featured the sacrifice of a cow. The meat was distributed to 30 needy individuals in Jalan Berakas, with the event graced by the presence of Yang Berhormat Awang Abdul Aziz Bin Haji Hamdan, Member of the Legislative Council.
According to Radio Television Brunei, Sultan Sharif Ali Islamic University (UNISSA) also conducted a similar ceremony. The university sacrificed three buffaloes, and the distribution of the meat to 18 selected families was officiated by Dato Seri Setia Doctor Haji Norarfan bin Haji Zainal, the Rector of UNISSA. Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) joined the celebrations by holding a Korban Ceremony, where the sacrificial meats were distributed by Doctor Haji Masairol bin Haji Masri, UBD’s Assistant Vice Chancellor for Industry Engagement and Enterprise Development.
The Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism, along with its departments, participated in the ceremonies. Dayang Hajah Tutiaty binti Haji Abdul Wahab, the Permanent Secretary at the Ministry, was present at the event, which also included a special talk titled “Hakikat Pengorbanan: Ibadah dan Keperihatinan.”
Meanwhile, the Islamic Da’wah Centre held a korban ceremony involving six buffaloes and a goat. The distribution of the sacrificial meats was led by Awang Haji Ahmad Abdussalam bin Haji Abd Rahman, Acting Director of the Islamic Da’wah Centre. At the Muhamad Jamalul Alam Mosque in Kuala Belait, the Takmir Committee organized Rites of Sacrifice, providing meat to over 130 poor and destitute individuals in the area.
