The welfare and well-being of the less fortunate as well as those requiring aid, continues to receive the care and attention of the country's society at all levels. This morning, a senior citizen man and his wife from Kampung Sungai Paku, in the Tutong District received the attention of the Kampung Telisai Consultative Council via community works carried out at their residence.
82 year old Awang Sapar bin Jumat, lives with his wife in a two-storey house. Volunteer works were carried out with the cooperation of the Telisai Neighbourhood Watch, Tutong Police Station personnel and Bukit Beruang Fire Station personnel, and the Tutong District Volunteers, SUKA. The works included painting the exterior of the house and also cleaning the interior of the house and its compound. According to Awang Muhammad Amir bin Hj Umarali, Chief Secretariat of Tutong District Volunteers, the owner had complained that there was a termite infestation and the volunteer works were carried out to ensure the house's structural safety.
