Contraband Smuggling Attempt Foiled

A joint operation patrol conducted by personnel of ‘C’ Company Police Reserves, Operations Department, Royal Brunei Police Force and the Royal Brunei Armed Forces, RBAF has foiled a contraband smuggling attempt at the Sungai Terusan Pandam area in Kampung Junjongan.


According to Police Superintendent Suhairi bin Haji Sukri, Acting Commanding Officer of the Police Reserves, the joint patrol detected two individuals attempting to smuggle contraband using a boat. Realising the presence of the authorities, the two men were able to escape arrest, leaving the boat and contraband, which were then seized and brought back to Limau Manis Police Station.


The police found several boxes of alcoholic drinks and three backpacks filled with cigarette cartons of various brands. The contraband were brought to Limau Manis Police Station for initial investigations and the case was then handed over to the Royal Customs and Excise Department for further investigation.
