Five aid houses, including three in Temburong District will be built by Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah starting this November. The construction of the houses will be carried out by two local companies. The housing assistance project under the Yayasan Housing Assistance Scheme is specifically for the underprivileged citizens and improving their poor and unsafe living conditions. The Contract Signing Ceremony for the Construction of Aid Houses under the Yayasan Housing Assistance Scheme took place at the Yayasan Building Complex in the capital, 30th October afternoon.
Witnessing the contract signing was Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Lailaraja Retired Major General Dato Paduka Seri Awang Haji Halbi bin Haji Mohd. Yussof, Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Second Minister of Defence as Chairman of the Yayasan Board of Directors. Signing on behalf of Yayasan was Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Nazmi bin Haji Mohamad, Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports as Member of the Yayasan Board of Dire
ctors and Chairman of the Yayasan Aid Review Committee and representing the appointed companies was Dato Seri Paduka Awang Haji Sufian bin Haji Sabtu, Deputy Minister for Security and Law at the Prime Minister’s Office as Acting Managing Director of Yayasan. With a more modern and on par construction concept and design using current technology, the project is expected to be fully completed in a short period of time.
