Kampung bukit beruang: The creativity of village residents in producing a product can develop the village itself. The variety of products produced without relying on just one product can indirectly increase economic activity in the village. This is what is being practiced by some residents of Kampung Bukit Beruang in the Tutong District.
According to Radio Television Brunei, the residents of Kampung Bukit Beruang have demonstrated their creativity by producing a pastry product from Japan, namely Mochi Cake, under the One Village, One Product (1K1P) Programme. This initiative shifts the usual focus from local handicrafts and pastries to introduce a unique dessert, thereby providing a source of income for the village residents.
The Mochi Cake, now a part of the 1K1P initiative, is showcased at local food expos and festivals to boost its popularity. Additionally, there are plans to open a Mochi Cake making class for youth, promoting entrepreneurship and offering opportunities for young people to become more active in this field.
