Crown Prince Celebrates 75th Anniversary of Cub Scouts with New Training Centre Opening

Bandar Seri Begawan: His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah ibni His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office, delivered a sabda at the Cub Scouts 75th Anniversary Celebration, expressing confidence in the new Scouts Camp and Training Centre. The facility is expected to become a landmark for scouting activities and a Centre of Excellence for developing Scouts members with strong self-identity and adherence to core values.

According to Radio Television Brunei, the event took place at the PPNBD Camp and Training Centre in Beribi, with His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Malik also in attendance. The Crown Prince, as the Chief Scout of the Brunei Darussalam Scouts Association, emphasized the historical progress and achievements of the association over its 75-year history, highlighting the importance of empowering the scout movement.

Upon arrival, His Royal Highness was welcomed by Dato Paduka Architect Haji Idris bin Haji Abas, President of PPNBD, and Awang Haji Junaidi bin Haji Husin, Chief Scouts Commissioner, alongside the event’s Executive Committee. The ceremony included a Cub Scouts Loyalty Pledge led by Abdul Hasbul Wakeel bin Haji Bolkiah from Troop 1054, and the reading of Surah Al-Fatihah by Awang Mohammad Arif Fahmi bin Fariszal from Troop 1075.

His Royal Highness presented Commissioner Warrants and Certificates of Appreciation, recognizing the contributions of individuals and institutions to the Scouts movement. A total of 27 Commissioner Warrants were awarded for the 2025 to 2029 service term, and appreciation certificates were given to schools and villages with active Scouts Teams.

The event concluded with a Doa Selamat, read by Awang Haji Rosaimi bin Haji Othman, Headquarters Commissioner, Religious Affairs Division.
