Crown Prince Emphasizes Al-Qur’an’s Role in Strengthening Mind at National Musabaqah

Berakas: His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah ibni His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister's Office, highlighted the pivotal role of stakeholders in promoting the teachings of Islam. He emphasized the importance of adhering to His Majesty's recommendations to empower the community through the Maqasid Syariah, fostering a generation dedicated to seeking blessings in both worldly and spiritual realms.

According to Radio Television Brunei, the Crown Prince delivered these remarks during the Official Opening Ceremony of the Final of the National Level Musabaqah Al-Qur'an Reading for Adults for 1446 Hijrah / 2025. The event was held at the International Convention Centre in Berakas on the night of April 22nd. The Crown Prince was welcomed by several dignitaries, including Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Indera Setia Diraja Sahibul Karib Pengiran Anak Haji Idris and various ministers, as well as his brother, His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Malik.

The ceremony commenced with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah, led by Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Paduka Seri Utama Dato Paduka Seri Setia Haji Awang Salim bin Haji Besar. The Minister of Religious Affairs, in his opening remarks, underscored efforts to promote Al-Qur'an literacy through formal education, emphasizing religious lessons and practical Islamic knowledge.

In his sabda, His Royal Highness stressed the importance of internalizing the wisdom of Al-Qur'an, reflecting on it with a sound mind. He also highlighted the significance of safeguarding the mind and enhancing self-resilience, aligning with the Musabaqah's theme, 'Akal Sihat dengan Al-Qur'an' or 'A Healthy Mind with Al-Qur'an'.

On the first night, six participants showcased their readings: Awang Haji Nasrul Fakhri bin Haji Yahya, Dayangku Alma Hazirah binti Pengiran Haji Jofri, Pengiran Muhd Amirul Aiman bin Pengiran Haji Marjuki, Dayangku Siti Ummi Syazana binti Pengiran Haji Marjuki, Awangku Adi Nazri bin Pengiran Haji Jofri, and Dayangku Alya Syahirah binti Pengiran Haji Jofri. A Nasyid performance titled 'Al-Qur'an Syafa'ah' added vibrancy to the event. Six more participants presented their readings on the subsequent night, April 23rd, 2025.
