Bandar seri begawan: A Doa Kesyukuran Ceremony was held at the Pengiran Anak Puteri Masna Religious School to celebrate the establishment of the Children's Al-Qur'an Tilawah Scheme, known as STAKA. The initiative is spearheaded by the Ministry of Religious Affairs through the Islamic Studies Department and MABIMS Centre for Al-Qur'an Studies and Dissemination, and it commenced earlier this year.
According to Radio Television Brunei, the ceremony was attended by Yang Berhormat Pengiran Dato Seri Paduka Haji Mohammad Tashim bin Pengiran Haji Hassan, the Minister of Religious Affairs. STAKA aims to provide early educational tools for Tilawah Al-Qur'an, offering initial training and guidance to young students in Al-Quran reading. The scheme also seeks to instill a love for the Al-Quran from an early age and aims to discover and nurture potential talents who may become future national qaris and qariahs.
The program currently includes 125 students and is conducted every Friday and Sunday. It is designed to give participants a strong foundation before they progress to the more advanced Youth Al-Qur'an Reading Scheme.
