Tutong: As part of the efforts to empower the rural economy through micro and small enterprises, the Bangunan SAKU Committee, in partnership with the Kampung Ukong Consultative Council Cooperative, has recently established the 'Ukong Mamagon' Cafe at Kampung Ukong, Tutong District. The initiative aims to create job opportunities for locals and provide a business space to market local food and beverage products.
According to Radio Television Brunei, the cafe encourages active involvement from local residents in the economic process, from raw material production and food preparation to product marketing. The cafe offers a traditional menu alongside a variety of breakfast options to attract local customers and visitors. One of the major focuses is marketing ambulong products, which not only increases the local product's value but also ensures the preservation of industrial heritage as a sustainable economic resource.
