Bandar seri begawan: The development of cooperation between the Legislative Council and the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA) Secretariat was a key topic during a farewell visit from the Secretary-General of AIPA. The Speaker of the Legislative Council received the Secretary-General, who is ending her term of service, to discuss this critical aspect of regional collaboration.
According to Radio Television Brunei, Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Lela Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Abdul Rahman bin Dato Setia Haji Mohamed Taib and Her Excellency Architect Siti Rozaimeriyanty binti Dato Seri Laila Jasa Haji Abdul Rahman highlighted the role of AIPA as a foundational element in fostering cooperation among the parliaments of ASEAN countries. This cooperation is pivotal in supporting ASEAN’s agenda and priorities. The Speaker expressed his gratitude for the contributions made by the Secretary-General of AIPA during her tenure.
The meeting, held at the Dewan Majlis Building, was also attended by Datin Paduka Doctor Dayang Hajah Huraini binti Pehin Orang Kaya Setia Jaya Dato Paduka Awang Haji Hurairah, who serves as the Clerk to the Privy Council, Secretary to the Cabinet Ministers’ Council, and Clerk to the Legislative Council.
