Bandar seri begawan: The Operation ‘D’ branch of the Fire and Rescue Department successfully conducted the ‘Lifesaver 995 Programme’ for 30 members of the Kampong Ayer Zone 2 Mukim Consultative Council, which includes Kampung Setia ‘A’, Kampung Setia ‘B’, Kampung Sungai Kebun, and the Perdana Wangsa Haji Mohammad Mosque Takmir Committee. The event took place at the Perdana Wangsa Haji Mohammad Mosque in Kampung Setia.
According to Radio Television Brunei, the programme coincided with the distribution of Fire Extinguishing Equipment as part of the Nationwide Grassroots Leaders Project. This initiative was rolled out in stages to empower the community to act as the first responders in emergencies, prior to the arrival of Fire and Rescue personnel.
In addition to the event in Kampong Ayer, the handover of Fire Extinguishing Equipment also took place in the Tutong District at the Kampong Padnunok Community Hall. So far, 43 penghulus and village heads from 13 mukims across the country have been briefed on the ‘Lifesaver 995 Programme’, enhancing their readiness to manage emergency situations.
