Moderation and spending within the allocated budget should be practised for whatever events or side events that will be held for His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam's 73rd birthday celebration. What is important is that the event can run smoothly and attract the general public and tourists to the celebration. These matters were highlighted by Awang Misle bin Haji Abdul Karim, the Brunei Muara District Officer at the First Meeting of the Executive Committee of His Majesty's 73rd Birthday Celebration for the Brunei Muara District.
Awang Misle also quoted the Minister of Home Affair's speech as the Chairman during the First Meeting of the National Committee for His Majesty's 73rd birthday celebration this year that urged for the committees to appoint youths in the committees so that they will have an opportunity to bring forth new ideas. Apart from that, Awang Misle said that in managing the events that will involve specific venues, permission to use the said locations must be sought from the related parties, and stipulated regulations obeyed to avoid any incident and ensure everyone's safety.
The meeting among other things discussed the dissolution of last year's celebration's committee, followed by the appointment of members for this year's celebration Executive Committee. Among those present were Members of the Legislative Council.
