The number of applicants for zakat or tithe distribution in the country continues to increase from year-to-year. Yang Berhormat Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman shared this at a Goodwill Meeting between the Minister of Religious Affairs and Members of the Legislative Council. The meeting took place on 31st January morning, at Dewan Multaqa, Ministry of Religious Affairs Annexe Building.
During the goodwill meeting, the Minister of Religious Affairs also explained some of the Ministry of Religious Affairs priorities that require the ideas from Members of the Legislative Council towards improving the social affairs through tithe. The meeting acted as a platform for brainstorming and raise awareness in together tackling religious service challenges in the country through the Whole of Nation approach. It also served as a discussion forum to share information and the latest development on the achievements as well as initiatives that have and are being implemented by the ministry.
