Ground Breaking Ceremony the People’s Republic of China embassy

Since the establishment of diplomatic relations between Brunei Darussalam and the People's Republic of China 28 years ago, the two countries have enjoyed a close and long-standing friendship. It is hoped that such relation can be further strengthened with the construction of the new building of the People's Republic of China embassy in the country. This morning, the Ground Breaking Ceremony was held for the new building at Jalan Kebangsaan. Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Masna binti Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Ambassador-at-Large at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs officiated the ceremony.

Upon arrival, Her Royal Highness AND Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Lela Cheteria Sahibun Najabah Pengiran Anak Haji Abdul Aziz bin Pengiran Jaya Negara Pengiran Haji Abu Bakar was greeted by Her Excellency Yu Hong, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to Brunei Darussalam and His Excellency Luo Zhaohui, Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China.

In her welcoming address, Her Excellency Yu Hong said that the new building will further strengthen the relations and cooperation between both countries.

Meanwhile, His Excellency Luo Zhaohui in his speech said that despite differing situations, both countries have the same desires to develop their respective countries.

Her Royal Highness received a pasambah.

Also present was Dato Paduka Haji Mohd Nor bin Haji Jeludin; AND Hajah Dayang Siti Norishan binti Haji Awang Abdul Ghafor, Permanent Secretaries at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
